Its time to write abt my solo trip to KL, and what better way than to bring back the Jason diary?! 0600: Wake up… -__- Sibei tired haha.. 0700: Reach airport by cab. Hmmm it’s the first time I been to budget terminal in fact. And man, it sure is budget.. the whole area consists of Mac, another food place, toilet, playground and……. Check in counter, that is it!! Where are the cool features like SAM machine, or money changer, or candy shop or book shop??? 0730: Queuing up in the line.. and behind a guy and a girl. Guy’s an ABC, Girl’s a WABC (Wannabe ABC) from Singapore.. LOL.. And basically, they are talking about some stuff which gets me guessing, are they really good friends or just acquaintances; but whatever it is, they aren’t together, so why are they going to KL together? 0732: But whatever it is their relationship is, ABC is using his ABC charms to size her up, and WABC is using her fake accent to sound cool, and at the end of the day, they are going to have some rough sex in KL. That’s all you need to know. 0745: I innocently ask man at counter whether I can define my backpack as a handcarry so I don’t need to pay extra for check in.. and he says as long as it is below 7 Kg its cool. And… it is 6.8Kg!!!!!! I give a nice grin while man at counter rolls his eyes.. =p 0800: Go toilet and left bag in cubicle while going out to wash hands.. tsk tsk.. should not be so careless when in Malaysia.. O.o 0815: Got a lot of time to burn so I just decided to have some BF. Wanted Mac but absolutely no space! Oh but “Rough Sex” and his girl were there though.. 0820: I decided to, in the spirit of Malaysian trip, eat some Mee Siam before leaving at the other makan place. One of the staff walking past comments to another guy, “Why your shirt so messy, tuck out, like kena rape like that?” 0900: Flight! Time to sleep!!! 0930: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz… 1200: I finally reach KL Sentral station! Man I should have taken the bus which (if as claimed), can reach the city in 1 hour! Instead I took transport from another company; which has very nice advertisements located just next to immigration.. , and took a bus and then a train, with a total journey of 1hour plus… power of advertisements people! 1215: Anyway, KL Sentral is a nice station! Its like where EVERYONE is! Whites, blacks, browns, yellows, blue, orange, green, any color of people are all here!!!! And, in a touch of nostalgia, it looks like a Euro railway station..! Ohhhh! 1230: I search and search and realize that the monorail station is NOT here. All the other trains, KTM etc are all here..! Except my monorail stop! Where is it??? 1240: Apparently, it is across the carpark, which, is not existent as it is under construction, so I just end up somewhere.... and cannot see anything except this big bus bay for tourists! And then.. my backpacker instincts take over! Backpacker tips #1: Normal locals will just bypass the bus bay, and go where? MONORAIL LA!!! Tatata!! So I just follow them!!! ^ ^ 1250: Well, the station was, underwhelming sia! Its like some steps and the oval shaped entrance and then straight away u see 300 people queuing for tickets and there! That's the station! And the entire place is next to some dumpster as well! 1300: Off to my place at station Imbi! In typical tourist fashion, I look around wide-eyed at everywhere and everyone! Yup even the locals who look like me, to me, in their country, they are worth a look =p As is the African woman standing next to me, who is so black yet so shiny and can reflect light @_@ 1315: Lalala! I have reached, and there is Times Square! Yay! I attempt to follow the instructions given by the hostel; down the escalator, walk to supermarket, turn right, see a door called exit, reach car park, walk through carpark, and then walk across road and there!!! There it is!!! 1320: Its good, very homely feel, with chinese plants, a rocking swing, tv.. I swiftly check in! 1330: Time for lunch! I ate some Indian mixed rice (Yes the same u find in Singapore, and also similarly expensive for their cost of living, 9RM. Those Indians.. their rice harvested on the moon isit -_-) 1345: Some Malay gangstarZ arrive for lunch! Naturally, I stare a while as they got nice old school rockerZ looks, BUT, backpacker tips #2 says that: Be careful of local gangstars in a foreign land.. cos u don't know their style! Hence I look away and pretend to be interested in other things! 1415: I go take the rail to somewhere, and notice that it is human operated! But, does the driver have to actually do anything? Other than press accelerate and brake I guess? 1420: I look at the ads in the train, and there's this little cute one that has a sticker of a company logo representing each stop. Well there's Fed-Ex, Sony, that's cool! And.. some local company.. ok.... and Julie's biscuits? Double A paper??? Well I get that Julie's is probably a cool biscuit brand in Malaysia and Double A is the poster boy of photocopy paper companies (Yes I just googled A-4 paper and Double A came out =p) ... but .. u know... 1500: Went to enjoy some foot massage in Times square... There is a moment of "........" when I just remove my socks. I think the oxygen in the room was taken over BY MY SMELLY FEET!!! I pretend not to notice whether other customers are looking... *whistle* 1600: The supermarket in Times Square keeps replaying this song with the words.. "Tamil words........................ Happy Happy Deepavali.... Tamil words.................... Happy Happy Deepavali, Happy Happy Deepavali.................. " Wa! I know its Deepavali today, but the level of respect for other races is much higher here man! Disagree? WHERE do u hear Tamil songs in Singapore on Deepavali other than in Little India and Vasantham Central? 1800: Meet up with Ah Mel and her fren (sorry forgot name) for dinner at Tong Yan Gai!!!! We ate sexy beef noodles, nice cool longan drinks, and awesome zhi ca seafood!!!! Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!! Backpacker tips #3: The best food is not the most "branded food" or "mainstream famous". The best food is normally found in slums with maybe even no chairs and tables, and the chef looks like he is 4000 years old. 2000: We go to Bukit Bintang for some cool deserts!!! Apparently its a Taiwanese concept, but using local deserts! So u get Ice Kacang, Chendol, Cheng Teung stuff.. but in a Taiwanese way? I dunno, but its just damn nice hahahaha! And... they also give you some nice round buzzer which looks like a prop from Star Wars, and it BUZZES with light and sound when your order is ready! Wow!!! 2200: TimeZ to kun!!!!!! ZZZZZZZZZ!!!! 2230: I realise, the Jackfruit I bought from China town, IS STILL IN MY BAG!!!!!!! 2235: Standing near the dustbin eating my Jackfruit... with messy hair and stuff... ZZZZ... |
